The Cutest Valentine’s Day Love Bug Craft for Kids
These ladybugs are very easy and fun to make. For the body of the ladybug, you use a potato as a stamp and black finger paint for the heads and spots.
What you need:
- white card stock paper
- potato
- red or pink paint
- black paint
- black permanent marker (optional)
Step 1:
Cut your potato in half and let it dry for a bit. We used smaller potatoes, so they can fit on the card stock, which we ended up making into Valentine’s Day Cards.
Step 2:
Dip the potato in red paint and stamp on white paper, let it dry completely.
Step 3:
Once everything has dried up, draw a black line down the middle of each red oval with a permanent marker.
Step 4:
Now tip the thumb into the black paint to make the head of each ladybug. Using your pinky, use the black paint to make the ladybug’s spots. You could also use Qtips for the ladybug’s spots, as they are a perfect size.
This is how our Valentine’s Cards turned out with the little Love Bugs on them! So easy and so fun! We wrote little cute Valentine’s Day messages on each card, and the kids gifted them to their friends in school.
My Preschooler and Kindergartener both had a ton of fun making their Love Bugs and it was such an easy craft, that I’m sure your kids will enjoy making as well.
