Hosting a birthday party for your child is very exciting but also can add up really quick. Whether you are on a tight budget, or just trying to save some money, it can be challenging to plan a birthday party. Of course, we want our kids to have the most memorable and fantastic birthday.
Luckily, there are quite a few birthday party locations that allow you to have a super fun birthday for very little to no cost! So, let’s chat about inexpensive birthday party places and the best places to have a party on a budget!

This list includes places that are free and some that are on the lower-budget site.
1. Lake/Beach Birthday Party
If you live close to a beach or lake, hosting a party there in the spring or summer time is a great option. They usually have wooden tables and chairs there, so all you need to bring is food and drinks. In case there aren’t any tables, make it a little picnic party in the sand or grass.
Our local lake lets us reserve tables for free and offers a playground for the kids, so they will have a blast swimming in the like or climbing the monkey bars with their friends.
2. Park Birthday Party
Another great and FREE birthday party location is a local park in your area. If you want to host a larger party with friends and family, this is a great place to do it, as most parks have plenty of space. All you have to bring is the food for your guests, maybe some decorations and the kids can entertain themselves on the playground equipment.
3. Picnic Birthday Party
My kids love picnics and it’s such a great, simple, yet fun birthday party idea. Pack up some blankets, and some finger food like sandwiches and wraps, and head to a nice public lawn, park, or beach. Even easier, have everyone bring a snack or appetizer to share. The kids can run wild, while the adults can sit on the grass and enjoy a nice summer day. Clean-up is very easy, and there really isn’t much prep included for this simple and easy birthday idea.
4. Birthday Party At Home
If you want to save on the party venue fees, having a birthday party at home, is a great alternative, especially if the weather isn’t nice and going outdoors to a park or beach isn’t an option. In case you have a small space, try to keep the guest list small and decorate your house with a few balloons and streamers, cook up some food, and enjoy not having to go anywhere. 5. Mini Golf Birthday Party
Having your next party at a mini golf place would be so much fun for the entire family! Many mini-golf places offer birthday packages that include admission, a private area for the party, food and drink tickets, and sometimes games and goodie bags. If you are having a larger party, this would be a great option. Of course, you could also opt out of a full birthday package and just pay for the admission, and have fun playing with family and friends.
6. Bowling Alley Birthday Party
Bowling Alleys are a great option for having a birthday party for your child. Most of them offer great birthday packages that include food, drinks, games, and shoe rentals. If your child’s birthday is during the colder months, this could be a great and affordable indoor option.

You could also purchase everything inside the zoo, which will probably be more expensive, but the Zoo is public, therefore no rental fee is required to use their chairs and tables.
