Do you need a quick and fun indoor activity for toddlers or preschoolers, so you can enjoy your coffee in peace and quiet or just have 10 minutes to yourself? Here is a super easy sensory activity that your kids will love, and will keep them busy for a while.
During the colder months or even sick days, entertaining little kids 24/7 can be a bit challenging. That’s why I love quick and easy indoor activities that don’t need a ton of prep time.
Sensory Activities make for great hands-on fun and learning for little ones, as they explore and learn about the world through their senses.
This post is all about a fun indoor activity for toddlers.
Fun Indoor Activity for toddlers
What you need:
- Little toys, dinosaurs, animals,…
- Ice Cube Tray
- Water
- Droppers
- Bin or Tray
Directions to set up this Activity:
You first need an Ice Cube Tray, that you fill with water. Leave a little space to fit the animals, toys, or whatever you would like to fit the tray with.
Then fill it with the toys and freeze for a couple of hours or overnight.
Once the water has fully turned into ice cubes, take them out and put them in a bin or tray for your kids to play with.
Fill a bowl with warm water and have them squirt warm water onto the ice cubes, using the droppers. The warm water will help “rescue” the animals or toys inside the ice cube.
My toddler and preschooler ended up playing with the water and the dinosaurs after they were rescued. It was such a cute and fun activity but can definitely get a bit messy with the water lol.
